A celebration of timeless tales and music, York County Library’s Patchwork Tales Festival took place on April 29, 2023 at the Comporium Amphitheater at Anne Springs Close Greenway in Fort Mill, SC. The 2023 iteration of Patchwork Tales brought an educational, fun storytelling event that showcased storytellers, performers, artists, food trucks, and a fun zone. Leading up to the daylong event, pre-festival events were held across York County including a Youth Visual Arts Contest that took place throughout the month of March. Patchwork Storytelling events were emceed by Carlo L’Chelle Dawson, and included Fish the Magish Magic Show, Porkchop Production’s Rapunzel, Sadie Bridges’ face painting, balloon artists, Flat Tire Trio musician group, and storytellers Lona Bartlett, Tim Lowry, and Donna Washington. This Small Grant was used offset artists fees, marketing, and event rentals.
