The Arts Council is here to help you achieve your artistic goals! Find out about the Arts Council’s classroom space, where you can host classes and workshops; exhibiting artwork in our galleries; learn about the artist studios at the Center for the Arts and Gettys Art Center; and more!
Whether your passion is visual, performing, or literary arts, the Arts Council has something for you!
The Arts Council manages 6 art galleries including the Dalton, Perimeter, and Edmund D. Lewandowski Galleries at the Center for the Arts, the Loading Dock and Courtroom Gallery at the Tom S. Gettys, Rock Hill City Hall’s Rotunda. The ACYC also manages the open air Alleys as Galleries (Cotton Alley Gallery & White Street Gallery)
Old Town Gallery Crawl
Explore the art scene in Old Town Rock Hill during the Old Town Gallery Crawl!
Storm Drain Art
Centered around local water heritage and water quality, painted storm drains raise awareness and educate the public about the effects that stormwater runoff and trash have on our waterways. These can be found in Old Town Rock Hill. This project is projected to expand into York County.
Alleys as Galleries
Alleys as Gallerys transforms York County, South Carolina's well-traveled alleys into art galleries that feature works by local and regional artists.
Monthly Artist Meetups
Held on the fourth weekend (Sunday) each month, the Monthly Artist Meetup brings regional visual artists to the Center for the Arts for networking and art critiques.
The Arts Council’s annual Literary Competition highlights the best in short stories and poetry from across the Southeast United States; and the 10th Annual Youth Literary Competition, highlights the best in short stories and poetry by students enrolled in K-12 programs from across York County, SC. Works by the winners of the annual competitions are featured in the Cotton Alley Writers Review, available to read right here!
Artists, schools, non-profit organizations, and units of government are encouraged to apply for the Arts Council’s Small Grants which provide support to small or pilot arts activities, to new developing programs or organizations, or to special art projects.

The Arts Council offers art classes at the Center for the Arts, workshops in unexpected places like the brewhouse of a local craft brewery, and dance and movement classes at the Center for the Arts.
