HERB DUMARESQ

In 2008, together with a very small group of local artists, Herb Dumaresq founded and served as first President of the Catawba River Art Guild, which now boasts over 70 members. Through his leadership and participation in the Art Guild, and through his teaching, whether in individual workshops or his classes at Fewell Park, Herb has been an inspiration to many local artists. As a regular participant in the York County Museum’s annual Come Draw with Me event, Herb shared his talent, skill and knowledge with the wider community as well.

Herb was a prolific artist, painting every single day of his life.  He was best known for his stunning watercolors, but also worked in oils, acrylics, pen and ink and other media.  The Catawba River Art Guild is grateful to be able to honor Herb through this exhibition of some of his work.
