Art Classes for adults are geared towards artists who are just starting out. to those who would like to learn new skills, and to those who would like a refresher.

REFUND POLICY
Tickets are refundable up to 2 weeks in advance of a class.
Missed classes are non-refundable.
Tickets are not transferrable between classes or sessions of each class.
SUPPLIES
Thank you for enrolling in Art Classes for Adults. The class minimum enrollment must be met in order for each class to take place. Please note that this determination will be made the Thursday before the class is set to meet. If the minimum number of students is not met, the class will be cancelled and enrollment fees will be refunded in full.

In addition, we will go over the basic tools to paint your musical composition.

Painting water can be a bit intimidating! Come learn easy, step-by-step techniques that take the guesswork out of painting water. Using Acrylics, students will learn to create vibrant, realistic looking waterscapes. Beginners welcome, with optional intermediate techniques to try. By the end of the day students will have a completed 11 x 14 painting, and an optional 8 x 10 painting.

Painting Landscapes with Acrylics for Everyone with Brad Sabelli

This studio class focuses on various methods and techniques in painting various landscapes. Artists may paint from a photograph that they bring with them or from memory. Class will begin with a review of the basics of acrylic painting, including the use of various brushes and pallet knives, and gel mediums.
The following points of discussion will be emphasized during this class:
1. Determining which should be painted first - the negative space or the positive space of the landscape.
2. How to determine the horizon line, and if there should there be multiple horizon lines.
3. When to use various washes in the composition.
4. Blocking in the various washes in the composition.
5. Determining a light source, and the importance of curio score light and shadow.
6. How to detail the flora and fauna in a landscape painting.
7. Know when to finish a painting so that it is not overworked.
8. Preparation of artwork for exhibition.

Drawing with Soft Pastels for Everyone with Brad Sabelli

This is a basic class in drawing with soft pastels. We will cover the basics of use and techniques with soft pastel drawing. Class will learn how to base watercolor paper with gesso to create a pastel paper foundation suitable for the use of pastels. We will also examine various methods and processes in final pastel compositions. To include blending/working with this medium on pastel (pad) paper and sanded pastel paper. Students are encouraged to bring photos from home as subject matter. The class should be able to complete at least two finished works. One from a photo brought to class and the other will be a landscape that will be demonstrated in class.

Basic Landscape Drawing with Prismacolor Pencils with Brad Sabelli

This intro class will cover drawing techniques using soft lead Prismacolor pencils. The landscape subject matter will provide all the necessary techniques to be employed in a composition. It is important that each artist brings to class various images (Originals preferred) to share with the others so we may have plenty of subject matter to draw from! The instructor will demonstrate various Prismacolor techniques and will also demonstrate landscape drawing during the first half of class.
