Art Classes at the Center for the Arts are for adults ages 18+.

ABOUT ART CLASSES FOR ADULTS AT THE CENTER FOR THE ARTS
Art Classes for adults are geared towards artists who are just starting out. to those who would like to learn new skills, and to those who would like a refresher.
Many classes are offered more than one time. If one doesn't fit into your schedule, you may find that it is offered again at another time.
SUPPLIES
Thank you for enrolling in Art Classes for Adults. The class minimum enrollment must be met in order for each class to take place. Please note that this determination will be made the Thursday before the class is set to meet. If the minimum number of students is not met, the class will be cancelled and enrollment fees will be refunded in full.
If the class supply list is not linked below, it will be emailed to you on Thursday before class is scheduled to occur.

Figure drawing class will support each student through refining their core fundamentals. This goal is fulfilled through exploring different poses in pastel medium and challenging long pose exercises. Drawing the figure is imperative to learning the human form and including color will help the artist express their ideas to improve individual practice. Figure drawing instruction includes the study of the human form, gesture, and composition. Each class will include a development of vocabulary and art theory. Each student will receive hands-on instruction to support individual creative goals. Novice artists can improve their skills with this pastel course.

Expressive Watercolor Landscape with Ida Irby

Learn to express yourself with watercolor painting. This course focuses on architecture and landscape here in Rock Hill. Students will explore textures, colors and icons found in nature. Working in a variety of wet media will improve each student's individual fine art practice. Novice students and practiced artists can continue their personal journey by honing brush and paint control. The lessons explore the essentials of water soluble paint to include: watercolor, ink and acrylics. Students will learn to interpret the dynamic drafting skills such as Linear Perspective and atmospheric perspective.
