INFORMATION
Let your child's creativity soar with our youth art classes at the
Arts Council of York County! Taught by the talented Ida Mae Irby, these classes are designed for young artists to explore a variety of techniques and mediums in a fun, supportive environment. Middle & High School-aged students will develop their skills and leave with their own amazing creations.
Classes are on-going, but students are welcome to enroll at anytime. Supplies are provided by the Arts Council.

PRICE | $25 per class
At this time, we are unable to accommodate classes for elementary-aged children.
SYLLABUS
ON-GOING & MODULAR DRAWING/PAINTING COURSES
Each students will complete all skill levels sequentially to focus on growth in specific skills. Students will receive personalized feedback and critiques from the instructor throughout the course. Each phase yields a finished piece, giving students a cohesive collection of art. Students are encouraged to practice and continue developing their skills on their own between classes.

SKILLS 1: PENCIL DRAWING FUNDAMENTALS
September 8, September 22
Master sketching techniques in graphite, colored pencil or pen and ink. Learn value scales, rendering techniques and practice composition. Create detailed preliminary drawings for your future paintings.
SKILLS 2: WATERCOLOR STUDY
October 6, October 13
Transform a simple study into a bold, finished painting as you learn the captivating art of watercolor! Explore the magic of color theory, washes and transparency in this class.
SKILLS 3: ACRYLIC PAINTING
November 3, November 17
Master essential techniques like layering, texture and impasto while developing your own unique style through tonal studies and mood boards. Leave with the skills to confidently create expressive acrylic artwork.
SKILLS 4: MIXED MEDIA FUSION
December 1
Go beyond the basics by experimenting with advanced collage and acrylic techniques to build unique, richly textured artwork. Discover new ways to express yourself by blending bold colors with paper elements.
