Don Yager Fine Art
Painting & Drawing
Don Yager is a Fort Mill, South Carolina painter whose acrylic and oil works capture the quiet beauty and distinctive character of the natural landscape. He is particularly drawn to the South Carolina Lowcountry—its marshes, tidal creeks, coastal light, wildlife, and changing skies. His work also reflects time spent in the mountains of North Carolina and the farmlands of the Midwest, places that have shaped his lifelong connection to the outdoors.

Drawing on years spent outdoors, including his experience as a fly-fishing guide, Don paints places he knows and experiences personally. Through careful observation, layered textures, light, and color, he seeks to capture not simply what a landscape looks like, but the stillness, rhythm, and atmosphere that give it a sense of place. His paintings invite viewers to slow down and experience the natural world with greater awareness and appreciation.

Don studied art and design at Truman State University and has continued his artistic development through advanced study with painter T.J. Cunningham. He is a resident artist at Queen City Art and also exhibits at The Art Hive, Myrtle Beach Art Gallery, and Charlotte Studio Artists in NoDa. He is a member of the Guild of Charlotte Artists and the Waccamaw Arts and Crafts Guild.
Don’s work has been exhibited at the Mint Museum Uptown, the Cain Center for the Arts, and other regional venues. His paintings have also been selected for publication in Kakalak 2025 and 2026.
