The principal players from the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra have combined to create Alan Black & The Tryon Street Quartet. The Arts Council of York County is proud to announce that this esteemed group of musicians returns to the Community Performance Center, 249 E. Main Street, Rock Hill, on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 7:30 PM. Doors open at 7 PM.
Alan Black is the principal cellist with the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra. Black performs on a 1995 Moes & Moes cello originally built for and played by Yo-Yo Ma. Rounding out the quartet are Rosemary Furniss and Tatiana Karpova on violin, and Ning Zhao on viola. Their dedication to musical mastery is awe-inspiring, and is surely something you do not want to miss. Enjoy an evening of pure musical virtuosity as Alan Black and the Tryon Street Quartet perform selections from Mendelssohn’s String Quartet in A Minor, Opus 13, and String Quartet in A Major, Opus 18 by Beethoven.
