Jazz trio, Take Three, is set to perform at the Prohibition Party on January, 11, 2014.
Frank Pullano earned his undergraduate degree in music at the State University of New York - Fredonia, and he received his graduate degree in usic at the University of Illinois at Urbana. He started playing with dance bands as a high school student. For many years, he performed in "jazz vespers" concerts throughout western New York. He is a Professor of Music Emeritus at the School of Music at the State University of New York - Fredonia.
Danny Turner grew up in western York County, SC. Torn between music and mathematics, math won, and after multiple degrees from Clemson University, Dr. Turner served as Professor of Mathematics at Baylor University for over two decades. While in Waco, Turner became a member of the Waco Jazz Orchestra, then led by renowned educator and saxophonist, Michael Jacobson. Dr. Turner also co-founded the central Texas jazz quintet, Spectrum. After leaving Baylor. Turner returned home and served as Professor of Mathematics at Winthrop University for almost fifteen years. He is now Professor Emeritus at Winthrop University. When not doting on his grandkids, he plays guitar in the jazz duo, Take Two.
Brian Hipp, saxophonist, enjoys playing anything from chamber music to rock. HIs primary musical interest is improvising on jazz standards in small combos. A native of Virginia, Brian currently lives with his family in Rock Hill and works as a math instructor and technology coordinator for the College of Arts and Sciences at Winthrop University.
