YORK COUNTY QUILT TRAIL
A part of the South Carolina Quilt Trails
South Carolina offers a rich tapestry of life, often expressed through the artistry and craftsmanship of quiltmaking. York County, SC joined the South Carolina Quilt Trails in 2012 with the installation of two quilt blocks, one at Windy Hill Orchard & Cidery and another at the Center for the Arts. Since then, five additional quilt blocks have been created. Many are on-site along the Ag + Art Tour of York County. Each year, the Arts Council of York County plans to add quilt blocks to farms participating the Ag + Art Tour of York County.
NO LONGER ON DISPLAY
The York County Heritage Quilt Trail is also a part of the South Carolina Ag + Art Tour, a free, self-guided tour of farms and artisans.
The the quilt blocks featured along York County Heritage Quilt Trail were created by the Arts Council of York County and painted by staff and many volunteers from around the county. The quilt blocks were partially funded by grants from Blue Cross Blue Shield and from York Electric Cooperative.
