Quilts of Valor

October 7 - November 15, 2019

This is developing into the largest and longest running Quilts of Valor® display in the United States for 2018.  Organizers are seeing this recognition of our veterans as one of the most patriotic displays to appear in Rock Hill, SC.  A Quilt of Valor® is a lifetime achievement award, often considered to be the highest award a civilian can present to a veteran.  It is never a gift; it is an award and is registered with the Quilts of Valor Foundation®.

There will be fifteen Quilts of Valor® on display during the five weeks of exhibit.  Hundreds of pictures will be part of the exhibit showing some of the 400+ area veterans who have received this award.  Included will be interesting facts about military history, the Quilts of Valor Foundation® and how it has touched the lives of over 185,000 veterans across the United States of America.  Twenty-four USA flags, five branches of service flags and a POW-MIA flag will be part of this impressive display.

All Quilts of Valor® are individually handmade pieces of fine art.  No two quilts are the same.  They are loving pieces of art that can become a family heirloom.  Some veteran’s families, knowing how the veteran treasured his/her quilt, have had his/her Quilt of Valor® present at the veteran’s funeral or memorial upon their passing.
