Illustrator Vernon Grant is known for his ability to imagine and to create colorful and unique works of art. Armed with a paintbrush in hand and an idea in mind, Grant quickly brought playful thoughts to life as illustrations for all to enjoy. His gift of storytelling through art captured the attention of advertisers, companies and publishers. Grant’s illustrations appeared in print on the covers of national magazines, advertising products, greeting cards and children’s books from the 1920s through the 1970s. | www.vernongrant.org

York County High School Art Show
November 22 - December 30, 2018
This annual high school art exhibition is open to all high school students in York County. Cash prizes are awarded for Best of Show, First, Second, and Third Places. Honorable Mentions are also awarded. Coordinated by the Arts Council of York County and the Catawba River Art Guild, awards are sponsored by the Yorkville Artists’ Guild.
During a reception held on Thursday, November 29, the winners of the York County High Schools Art Show were announced. This year, 18 art teachers from 7 York County high schools, representing 3 districts, selected 91 works by 87 students for exhibition.

The York County High School Art Exhibit is coordinated by the Arts Council of York County and the Catawba River Art Guild, and is sponsored by the Yorkville Artists’ Guild.
