Vision/Mission
It is our vision and mission to create and support a thriving, diverse and vibrant arts community in York County by providing leadership in arts education and development, arts marketing and arts advocacy.
But to do this – WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Your tax-deductible membership contribution to the Arts Council will assist
Local Artists
The Arts Council funds small grants programs and provides both studio and gallery space.
York County Schools
For over 30 years, the Arts Council has produced a multi-tiered program in York County that supports Arts in Education Performing Arts Series, artist residencies in public and private schools, summer art camps and student art exhibits. The Arts Council of York County and Rock Hill Schools are part of the Kennedy Center Partners in Education Program.
Community
The Arts build bridges between cultures, attract new businesses and promote a strong sense of community. The arts also drive economic growth. A recent study by the Arts Council and Americans for the Arts found that the arts create:
- $7 million economic impact in York County
- 210 full-time equivalent jobs
- $572,000 in local & state revenue
In the fall of 2009, the Arts Council opened Community Performance Center at 249 E. Main Street, Rock Hill. This center features a diverse performing arts series including music, theater and dance.
